Every Sunday until August 28, 2022

8:45am – 9:45am

Healthy and responsible Biblical interpretation is one of the greatest challenges of the modern church. During quarantine and the advent the virtual church, suddenly thousands and thousands of churches and Christian ministries became instantly available online. Many Christians have found new churches, preachers and bible teachers that they listen to online on a weekly basis.
Yet sadly, many Christians are not equipped with the tools necessary to understand if these bible teachers or churches are presenting a healthy, responsible interpretation of the Bible. Since the very early days of the church, irresponsible interpretation of the scriptures have been a problem, and it will continue to be an issue until Christ returns (2 Tim 4:1-5).
If the Bible is the authority of truth and breathed out by God himself (2 Tim. 3:16-17), these questions deeply matter for the Christian.
In this class, we will be using "How to Read the Bible for All its Worth" by Gordon Fee and Douglas Stuart to learn basic principles of biblical interpretation. Having sold over 900,000 copies, it has been proven to be a very helpful introduction to the task of biblical interpretation. It will provide you with the foundation to "correct handle the worth of truth" (2 Tim. 2:15), and also begin the continua and lifelong process of opening up the fountains and treasures of Scripture as we learn to read it deeply and thoughtfully.
Copies of the book will be $18.
If you are interested in signing up, please email Pastor Daniel at dan(at)immanuelde.com.
Class begins June 5th before our Sunday morning service, from 8:45-9:45am.
